Preceptor Awards

Intensive Care Unit, Surgical
PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center in Springfield, OR

From student nurses to professionals starting a new role, nurses need guidance, advice, and insight to help them navigate their career transitions.

The OCN Annual Outstanding Nurse Preceptor Awards is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the critical role these professionals play in advancing the nursing workforce. Nurse preceptors offer feedback and encouragement, educate on hospital policies, and evaluate competencies. A strong preceptor relationship plays a vital role at every stage of a nurse’s career. Join us in acknowledging the immeasurable impact Oregon nurse preceptors have on our nurses, our workforce, and our communities across the state.

Now Open: Nominate an Outstanding Preceptor for 2024!

Do you know someone in your organization who has a positive impact on new team members? Or do you have a past preceptor who left a lasting impression on your own career? We welcome you to submit a nomination in their honor.

Nominations can be made on behalf of organizations and peer-made nominations. Submissions are due by Thursday, August 1, at 5 p.m. (PST).

Mark your calendars! In addition to a feature on OCN’s website and the OSBN Sentinel, we will honor selected preceptors at our virtual Annual Preceptor Celebration during Nursing Professional Development Week (September 14-20, 2024). The final date, time, and additional event details will be announced later this summer
