Compassion fatigue occurs when we tend to the hurts of others without getting sufficient tending to ourselves. It’s also unfortunately a common phenomenon among those in caring roles. Join Integrative Health Nurse Judy Ulibarri and Mindfulness Educator Ashley Dahl for an experiential dive into what it can look and feel like to include oneself in the healing process. In this 3-hour workshop we’ll unpack risk factors, symptoms, common compounding issues (such as moral injury), and the underlying science of compassion fatigue. We’ll explore evidence-based strategies that mitigate burnout and restore balance in one’s nervous system. Participants will also craft a personal care plan with practices which support moving out of compassion fatigue and into states of what’s known as compassion satisfaction.
